Terms
Last updated 6 October 2026.
This is an English translation. If the two versions differ, the Norwegian version applies: Vilkår.
These are the terms for help from HolmestrandIT, whether we come to you or connect to you through remote support. They are deliberately short.
Who your agreement is with
HOLMESTRANDIT AS, org. no. 938 342 121, Gladengveien 5F, 0661 Oslo. Phone 995 60 122, e-mail [email protected].
What we do
We help with computers, tablets, phones, networks and software. We give advice, fix faults, set up equipment and tidy things up. We tell you if something is beyond what we can do.
Remote support
Remote support means that you download a small tool and read out the number it shows, so that we can see and control your screen while we talk.
You decide every step of the way
- We only get access when you press Accept on your screen. That applies every time.
- You see everything we do, the whole time.
- You can stop whenever you want by closing the tool.
- We are never connected unless we are talking with you at the same time.
- We make no recordings. The session goes through our own server, not a service abroad.
Before we connect, we ask you to close any windows with sensitive content, such as online banking or health information. If we need to see something like that to solve the problem, we will tell you first.
Backup is your responsibility
We always ask you to have a backup before we do anything that could affect your files, and we tell you when a task is of that kind.
If you do not have a backup, we do what we can to look after the data, but we cannot guarantee that nothing will be lost. If you need help setting up backup, we are happy to do that as a separate job.
Price and payment
The prices are listed on the prices page. Payment is made after the work has been done, by invoice with 14 days to pay.
Price and troubleshooting for business jobs
We agree on the task and the price limit before paid work starts. Troubleshooting is invoiced for the work done within this limit, including when the investigation shows that equipment must be replaced or that another supplier must fix the fault.
We explain what we have investigated, what we found and what we recommend next. Further work, new equipment and costs beyond the agreed limit are cleared with you before we go any further.
You can order one-off jobs without a service agreement. Ongoing support, equipment rental and website services have their own agreed terms.
Price and troubleshooting for private individuals
Help charged by the hour has a minimum charge of one hour, including for remote support. After that, time is counted per half-hour or part thereof.
We tell you in advance if a job looks like it will cost more than expected, and you decide whether we should continue.
If the problem is not solved, you do not pay for the time we spent trying. This does not apply if the cause turns out to be hardware that must be replaced, or something outside our control.
Right of withdrawal
If you are a consumer and order help by phone, e-mail or online, you have a 14-day right of withdrawal under the Cancellation Act (angrerettloven). If you withdraw within the withdrawal period, you get your money back.
If you ask us to start straight away
Most people who call us want help now, not in fourteen days. In that case, you must expressly ask us to start before the withdrawal period has run out.
If you do, and the job is completed, you lose the right of withdrawal. If we only get part of the job done before you withdraw, you pay for the part that has been done.
We confirm this by text message or e-mail before we start, so that we both have it in writing.
If you want to withdraw, keep it simple: call or send an e-mail. You can also use the withdrawal form.
If something goes wrong
We do the job as well as we can, but we cannot guarantee that everything can always be solved.
- We are liable for damage we cause through negligence.
- We are not liable for loss of data where we asked you to take a backup and it was not taken.
- We are not liable for indirect loss, such as loss of earnings or lost contracts.
- Our total liability for a single job is limited to what you paid for the job, unless we have acted with gross negligence.
This does not limit the rights you have as a consumer under the Consumer Purchases Act (forbrukerkjøpsloven) and the Craftsman Services Act (håndverkertjenesteloven).
Complaints
If you are dissatisfied, tell us first. We want to know about it, and it can usually be sorted out.
If we cannot reach agreement and you are a consumer, you can ask the Norwegian Consumer Authority (Forbrukertilsynet) for mediation. Cases that are not resolved there can go on to the Consumer Complaints Committee (Forbrukerklageutvalget). Here is how to proceed: forbrukertilsynet.no/tvistelosning.
Personal data
See the privacy policy. If you are a business customer and we handle systems containing personal data on your behalf, we also enter into a data processing agreement, as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) requires.
